The In‑Between.
Recovery happens between appointments. Now, so does your support.
Text or send a voice memo to your dietitian between paid sessions, and get thoughtful, clinically grounded guidance back within set hours. Built for clients, and built especially for the parents and partners holding the fork at home.
The hard part rarely happens in the office.
It happens at a Tuesday dinner, a school lunch, a birthday party, a restaurant menu. A week is a long time to sit with a question that matters tonight.
“She ate half and pushed the plate away. Do I hold the line or let it go tonight?”
A parent sends a 40‑second voice memo. Maggie replies with a plan for the next meal and the words to use.
“He tried the crunchy granola bar. Three bites! What’s our next step?”
An ARFID food‑chaining moment gets named, celebrated and built on before the momentum fades.
“We’re trying the Thai place tonight. Can you help me pick from the menu?”
A client sends a photo of the menu during support hours and walks in with a plan.
Four steps. No phone tag.

Hear back
Your dietitian responds during support hours, Mon–Fri · 9 AM–5 PM ET, within 1 business day.
Bring it to session
What you shared becomes the starting point next time, so sessions begin with momentum, not a recap.
For the ones setting the table.
When a loved one is in eating disorder recovery, home becomes the treatment room and you become part of the team. The In‑Between gives you a direct line to a specialist who knows your family’s plan, so you aren’t guessing alone between appointments.
Especially valuable when stepping down from a higher level of care, during ARFID food exposures, and around holidays, travel and school transitions.

Twenty dollars. No more waiting a week.
Added to each paid session, so the support scales with your care. Pause or drop it anytime with notice before your next session.
Questions, answered
Is this therapy, or a crisis line?+
Neither. It’s nutrition support from your dietitian between sessions. It works alongside your therapist and medical team and doesn’t replace them or emergency care.
When will I hear back?+
Messages are answered during support hours, Mon–Fri · 9 AM–5 PM ET, within 1 business day. You can send anytime; evenings and weekends roll to the next support day.
Can both parents, or my partner, be on the thread?+
Yes. With the appropriate consent, caregivers can join the same secure conversation so everyone hears the same guidance.
Is it private?+
Yes. Messages go through SimplePractice’s secure client portal messaging, not regular SMS, and become part of your confidential record.
Will insurance reimburse it?+
The add‑on is a private‑pay service and isn’t included on superbills. Your sessions themselves remain eligible for superbills as usual.
Not for emergencies. If you or your loved one is in danger or experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988.
