At NOVA Nutritional Counseling, we believe that meaningful connections between clinicians and treatment professionals play an important role in supporting individuals and families navigating eating disorder recovery.
Our owner, Maggie Stenson, MCN, RD, LD, CEDS-C, recently had the privilege of joining several incredible fellow clinicians for a special networking event in Virginia. Hosted by Eating Recovery Center, Hidden River Treatment Center, and Newport Healthcare, the evening was a wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues, build relationships, and enjoy some of the beautiful scenery Virginia has to offer.
The afternoon began with apple picking, drinking cider, and eating the most amazing cinnamon donuts at Carter Mountain Orchard, where everyone had the chance to enjoy the fall weather, take in the stunning mountain views, and spend time getting to know one another outside of the usual clinical setting. Maggie left with 3 bags of apples and put them to good use! The day continued with dinner at Michie Tavern, a historic Virginia landmark that provided the perfect setting for conversation, connection, and community.
Beyond the beautiful setting and delicious food, what made the evening especially meaningful was the opportunity to connect with other professionals who share a passion for supporting individuals impacted by eating disorders and mental health challenges. Events like these remind us how valuable collaboration, relationship-building, and a strong professional community can be in providing thoughtful, comprehensive care.
At NOVA Nutritional Counseling, we deeply value the relationships we build with therapists, physicians, treatment centers, and other healthcare professionals. We know that recovery is rarely a journey taken alone, and having a collaborative team of providers can make a meaningful difference in the support individuals and families receive.
A special thank you to Eating Recovery Center, Hidden River Treatment Center, and Newport Healthcare for hosting such a special event and creating space for connection. We are grateful to have spent the evening with so many wonderful clinicians and look forward to continuing to strengthen these relationships throughout the Virginia, Maryland, and DC communities!
Here's to continued collaboration, meaningful connections, and working together to support recovery!
